UnderCover

UnderCover was remarkable in a couple of ways. It was our first project under lockdown, using Zoom as a means of communication for classes. It was also, for me, incredibly quick. This was the brief, and I highly recomment taking a look at the submissions in all their varietal glory:

My first thought was cosy and homely, being under the bedclothes, safe and warm, in a familiar place where nothing can go wrong and it's okay to simply be yourself. The second was undercover in the sense of spies and law enforcement: duplicity, concealment, hiding, appearances being misleading, people misrepresenting themselves.

What immediately sprang to mind was a paper doll I remembered from childhood. For some reason, I found it terribly creepy. She sprang fully formed ...
